this, the Speed Racer Movie has not yet opened. We loved the original
Speed Racer. We grew up idolizing Speed Racer and all he stood for
-- speed and more speed. We PRAY to the animation gods that, in the new
version, they
don't screw it up. No matter
that happens, though, these
perfectly wonderful Bobble-Heads capture the essence of the original anime
series.
There are
TWO figures in the set -- Speed Racer and Racer X. Speed Racer wears a
helmet with adjustable visor, and Racer X strikes a stoic pose with his
trademark goggles. The figures, which are 7 inches tall, come together in
a cool box with Speed Racer graphics on it.
We think
it's a little cruel that Speed Racer holds the victory cup, while Racer X
stands with clenched fists, obviously frustrated that he didn't win --
this time.
