| Remember
when the Russians were one of the superpowers? (and the
United States, for that matter) We were taught to fear and
hate them, and perhaps with good reason. But now, with the
Soviet Union receding into history, this set of Communist
Nesting Dolls just tickles our balalikas.
Each set contains
five different dolls -- each one a bit smaller then the
next. You get Mikhail Gorbachev, Leonid Brezhnev, Nikita
Khrushchev, Joseph Stalin, and Vladimir Lenin. We suppose
that if they were true communists, they would all
be the same size. But then they wouldn't fit into one
another, defeating the entire purpose of the toy.
They're carved from
wood, and we're pretty sure they're hand-painted. And to
give you an idea how much Russia has fallen, they're made
in China. |
