| Long ago, we thought the future would be much different. By the year 2000, we were supposed to be zipping around in personal flying saucers and vacationing on Mars. AND we were supposed to own personal robots like the one pictured on this page. But because the future got screwed up somehow, you'll have to settle for this nifty reproduction of a classic wind-up robot. The Robot Space Trooper is made almost entirely of tin, and is constructed with techniques that have not changed in thousands of years. (Okay, since the 1950s.) Robot Space Trooper might remind you of the robot from that classic Sci-Fi film, Forbidden Planet. This stunning tin robot has a plastic dome for a head, which is filled with metallic disks. When you wind his crank, the disks spin around and the Space Trooper rolls off looking for things to explore. This Robot also comes in a super box with gorgeous vintage graphics. |
